Here's a 36" tall manzanita arrangement, using beautiful artificial cymbidium orchids, moss and deco jewel beads in warm fall colors. The tree is natural red Manzanita set in a wooden vase with the base covered with a layer of moss.

This tree started out quite branchy, and has been professionally trimmed to get a more open look. Most Manzanita branches are a bit narrower than this one, however using 2 branches or supplements can create a similar effect.

The stem is set in a styrofoam block with newpapers packed around it to within 2 inches of the top of the vase. A layer of plaster of paris was poured on top of that as a "cap" to create a solid base. Detailed instructions with photos can be found here.
