I love this lighted base. I placed a smaller vase with white and clear marbles in it. I don't know how it would do with colored marbles. It also isn't bright enough to penetrate a large amount of marbles so if your vase is deep, it might not light it all up. That's why I put a smaller vase on to light up the surrounding sides. It looks lovely in the dark. Only downfall is that it doesn't have the ability to be plugged in if using for a long period of time.
